The company
Mawell, a manufacturing group known for vermicelli and other staples, launched Mawell Supermart in 2020 to bring its own branded products to retail customers.
With large SKU complexity (around 12k SKUs), multiple outlets, and a central distribution center, Mawell needed a single system to manage inventory, purchases, production, and retail billing. They migrated from a problematic software to Gofrugal's HQ solution to centralize master management, automate purchase orders, enforce user restrictions, integrate payments, and improve inventory accuracy.
The challenge
- Managing a large number of SKUs Mawell handles 12k+ SKUs, making it difficult to track current stock availability, maintain ideal stock levels, and monitor stock movement across two stores and a warehouse.
- Inconsistent pricing and schemes Suppliers share monthly price changes and schemes, but without a centralized system the revised rates were not consistently applied at all locations, leading to errors in ordering and margins.
- Inadequate production capabilities As a manufacturer of their own branded products and many private labeled products, Mawell needed a way to repack items and print unique barcodes but it was done manually and lacked transparency.
- Weak security mechanisms With over 40 staff members handling billing, stock, and store operations, a lack of user- and role-based user restrictions created data manipulation risks and unauthorized actions.
- Stock movement complexity Frequent transfers between outlets and the warehouse needs accurate tracking, but the previous system could not offer real-time visibility or validate whether stock was moving as per plan.
- Consistent billing disruptions Intermittent failures in EDC card machines and POS communication led to slow billing and long customer wait times.
“We chose Gofrugal mainly because of its strong industry-focused management capabilities. It’s very good software, user friendly, and easy to adapt.”

The solution: Gofrugal
- Centralized operational control With Gofrugal, all outlets and the warehouse were connected under one centralized system to standardize pricing, stock visibility, and overall retail operations.
- Automated purchasing Mawell configured minimum and maximum stock for all SKUs that allowed automatic PO generation, eliminating manual errors and ensuring timely replenishment across outlets.
- Holistic production process Gofrugal's production module enabled Mawell to manage repacking, track stock of bulk and repack items, generate barcoded items, and maintain accuracy in production.
- Restricted user access controls Each employee now has permissions aligned with their responsibilities. This prevents misuse and controls sensitive operations like bill edits, cancellations, and returns.
- Transparent stock transfersTransfers between the warehouse and stores are fully recorded in the software and validated, ensuring physical stock always matches system stock and preventing stock mismatches or revenue loss.
- Uninterrupted billing and payments Billing counters have hybrid billing options integrated with reliable EDC and POS terminals, reducing billing time and ensuring smooth customer checkout.
“The features at the store level are very detailed. Once you set min–max, auto-indent takes care of the replenishment."
